First NDP premier to win three majorities

Welcome back, Mr. Premier. Gary Doer made political history on May 22nd as the first NDP leader to win three consecutive majority governments and improved his number of seats in the Legislature by one. 

"Thank-you very much Manitoba for this privilege to serve as your premier once again," said a jubilant Doer at the Winnipeg Convention Centre after his chosen victory song – Life is a Highway by Tom Cochrane – finished and his resounding cheers quieted.
